Why metal refinishing is important:

As a property manager, your reputation is dependent upon the stature of the building you manage.
You are responsible for its safety and functioning.
And while most of your time may go to those efforts, the truth is, it is the cosmetic items we see first that create the building’s overall impression.
The goal is for a building to appear well maintained and remarkable. This not only increases the value for the owner but also distinguishes you as a good steward of the building.

Imagine that the following is your first impression at a building where you are meeting someone for an appointment:

As you approach the front entrance you grasp the metal handrail leading you up the exterior steps. It feels rough, marred with years of scratches and exposure to weather.
At the front entrance you must use a tarnished, off-colored handle.
In the lobby the elevator buttons are dirty and the interior of the elevator is scratched across the doors that close in front of you.
You stare at the numerous scratches and smudges during your ride from the lobby.

Now picture this:

As you approach the front entrance the sun is reflected off of the gleaming stainless handrails.
The door handles are equally bright and clean in appearance. You do not hesitate to go inside.
The elevator button call plates are not tarnished and the elevator doors are without scratches, marks or greasy smudges.
This elevator feels clean and safe.

Of course, we want to lease, work in, and visit buildings that feel clean and safe.
We want property managers to value the human experience so that our tenants and clients have the best possible experience in our spaces.
We know that poor feelings about the visible condition of a building will absolutely sour any time spent within it.

Metal maintenance should not be disregarded. Correct cleaning methods, expert advice, and professional routine maintenance will all protect your investment and reputation.
