Annually on 9/11, the Heart of America Patriot Foundation hosts their largest fundraiser event at the Nicklaus Golf Club at Lionsgate. KC Restoration is again honored to sponsor a team for tomorrow’s golf tournament. On a day all Americans remember the threats to the country that our brave servicemen and women protect us from, we are proud to support an organization that remembers and honors our veterans who diligently serve our country. Since their beginning in 2012, the Heart of America Patriot Foundation’s goal is to raise funds, provide scholarships, and help find opportunities to support veterans putting the pieces of their lives back together when they get home. Five out of the six board members are veterans, so 100% of the proceeds goes to the veterans needing support not the organization or its board. The success of the foundation is due largely to individuals, companies, and groups who get behind Heart of America to drive their mission forward. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow at Lionsgate and encourage anyone else reading to find out more about how they can support this worthy cause.
KC Restoration recently learned of an outstanding non-profit we got to support at last week’s Heart of America Patriot Benefit golf tournament. Tom Allen, Steven Lafrinere, Alan Foster, and Christopher Adair represented KC Restoration’s team on 9/11. And as members of the Color Guard representing the National Guard, they also presented colors, fired the three-gun salute for our fallen soldiers, and played Taps at the opening ceremony events.
This year’s benefit raised around $65,000 for local veterans! We are grateful for the opportunity to be involved and to support an outstanding organization like the Heart of America Patriot Foundation that aligns with our passions for community and veterans. Since 100% of their efforts are voluntary, any contributions go not to paid salaries or rent but onto such efforts as a four-year scholarship for a wounded veteran to attend KU, flight costs for WWII veterans to travel with the Heartland Honor Flight, and The Wounded Warrior Project.

Congratulations, Fisher House, on opening your 70th Fisher House! For those of you who haven’t heard about this wonderful organization, they have built a network of “homes away from home” for families of veterans and military members to stay at no cost while their loved one is receiving medical treatment. They also provide airfare and hotel assistance and have awarded over $11,000,000 in scholarships.
The Fisher House Organization has served 277,000 families, provided over 6 million days of lodging, and saved families over $310 million since 1990. Those are some impressive numbers! That level of long-term commitment made it an easy choice for KC Restoration to continue to support Fisher House over the years. We are proud that our business’s success allows us to donate 10% of our profits to veterans’ causes, and we encourage anyone looking for a great cause to support this spring, to check out Fisher House. Their homepage can be found at www.fisherhouse.org.
KC Restoration is excited to share about a wonderful nonprofit organization helping veterans across our country. Companions for Heroes provides healing and support through companion animals for active duty military personnel, military veterans, and first-responders recovering from the psychological challenges they suffered during service, especially Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). We are proud to rally behind such a worthy cause and include Companions for Heroes among the veterans’ organizations we support by donating 10% of our profits. To learn more about how you could become involved too, check out their website at http://companionsforheroes.org/.
