This summer’s Art in the Loop Project is about to begin its 5-month run in Downtown Kansas City. Tomorrow, 6pm, at the Central Public Library, the 15 artists of the annual outdoor exhibition will be featured as well as the participants in the Streetcar Sounds Summer Music Series. Dancers Tristian Griffin and James “SugEasy” Singleton will show off their hip-hop and contemporary dance “When Two Worlds Meet.” Want to get a sneak peek at some of the great artwork? Check them out at https://www.artintheloop.com/. With KC Restoration’s work in metal, we were particularly drawn to John Hachmeister’s “We Remember/We Forget” piece that will be at Washington Square Park. The exterior monuments of the structure, made from bonded Kaw River sand, will slowly dissolve in the rain, to reveal an inner column of steel fabricated books.
