KC Star article on restorations at KCP&L Tower

The KC Star featured the art deco restorations at the KCP&L Tower. Our technicians Matt and Robert were mentioned in several photos of the online feature, “”A look inside the renovation of Kansas City’s historic KCP&L tower” from July 7 and in print on page A7 the following day.

KC Restoration is thrilled to have the opportunity work on restoring the architectural treasures of the KCP&L Tower, and have our work recognized.

Metal refinishers Matt Drescher (left) and Robert Wiest of KC Restoration in Overland Park polished an art deco lighting fixture, one of several undergoing restoration, in the Grand Hall at the new Power & Light Apartments at 14th and Baltimore in downtown Kansas City. The KCP&L art deco tower, which originally opened in 1931 as the headquarters for Kansas City Power & Light Co., has been undergoing a massive renovation and will reopen as an apartment building housing 210 upscale apartments. The first residents moved into the building in May. Tammy Ljungblad tljungblad@kcstar.com
