Welcome to KC Restoration’s new culture series!  Each month we will be highlighting one of our company values. October is about our Community value.
Every company’s culture is unique, just like each finger print is different. But a company’s culture can make or break its success, hence why “Culture Eats Strategy for Breakfast” – Peter Drucker. Webster defines culture as, “the set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes an institution or organization.” Here are the values that KC Restoration hopes to instill in its employees:
Excellence
Good enough never is. Learn and improve from every experience. A strive for excellence consistently improves our quality.
Gratitude
Choose to be grateful and express gratitude.
Integrity
Live and speak the truth. Obey laws and regulations. Be fair.
Selflessness
Put the needs of customers and teammates above yourself.
Community
KC Restoration seeks to build community internally and be an active and involved member of the KC community.
Accountability
We hold ourselves and our teammates accountable to uphold our values and fulfill their responsibilities.
Communication
Only through successful, frequent communication can we understand and be understood.
Culture is more than just printing shared values, it’s living them. Living a culture is done through traditions, routine, behavioral norms, and visual representation of the value in action. We demonstrate our value of Community with building relationships both inside company and in the community. Each year, we work as a team and team up with our customers on serving opportunities. We have collected donations for Children’s Mercy, KC Pet Projects, School Supplies, and much more. Giving back is at the heart of who we are! Building a community within the organization involves team building exercising, all staff meetings (prior to COVID), volunteering together, game night, picnics, and much more.

A Way to Give Back
While COVID has changed the way a lot of us do business, non-profit organizations have also been hit. Please consider giving back. If you are looking for a nonprofit to give back to, we suggest: Children’s Mercy, they are in need of supplies. Please visit their website to see how you can help https://www.childrensmercy.org/contentassets/43bf01ece9b8416ba90e953082c0939c/donations-needed-flier.pdf?_encoding=UTF8&type=wishlist . We will also have a box in our lobby if you would like to come drop of a donation.
